I was really honored to be mentioned in a ETSY Blog article "Get the look: Radical Simplicity". It caused a fun little flurry of activity in the shop. My print of "Hank the Daschund" was featured, and is still available here.

snowday.daydreaming
San Diego weather has been perfect this year. Mild and warm with plenty of pool days, and lovely cool nights. The chalk drawings we made leading into summer are still untouched, no rain has fallen in so long. It is during stretches like these when the days mesh together in my memory. If only a thunderclap would come to reset this place! I miss the smell of the hot sidewalk during the first minutes of summer rains. And I miss having to bundle up.
Hoping my fall visit to the East is packed with apple cider and crisp air, bike rides and at least one grand storm. Odd how in the middle of winter we daydream of basking in the sun, and now with these sunny doldrums I am craving a snowday.

Eel River, Mendocino. CA
I have been on vacation, far far away from phone and wireless signals. (bliss) Big Bend Lodge on the Eel river was a remote paradise filled with mountain chilled river basking, campfires, nightly feasts, music making, tightrope walking, a few cases of wine, and a much needed dusting off the third eye.
The rocks at this bend of the river were fascinating, many were fractured but holding their shape just waiting for the slightest touch to cause a crumble.

howling from the vaults
Finally scanned some old film from a California/Oregon roadtrip we took almost 2 years ago. The pinkish ones were taken at Crater Lake during a forest fire. Fire + smoke = spectacular light.
As an experiment I took one roll to CVS for processing, and they mangled it quite beautifully. The prints are so out of focus (second down) they look like a fuzzy tv (some of my favorites). The moss and lichen laden trunks were found in lush Oregon.
cheeky.
